Benzema claims "Diplomatic immunity"
After Real Madrid's Copa del Rey disaster against Leganés, he popped a video of himself onto Instagram Stories, driving his sports car.
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema left Valdebebas at 12:42 today. An hour and a half after finishing the training session in the wake of last night's disaster in the Copa del Rey, the forward shared a video with his followers with the text "Diplomatic immunity". In it, Benzema is at the wheel of his luxury Mercedes sports car and showing off his €45,000 Rolex Sky Dweller watch. No message about the humbling at the hands of Leganés. Just Benzema listening to the song: "Diplomatic immunity", the B-side of Drake’s new release, Scary Hours
Benzema has been with Real Madrid for nine years and is currently in his worst goalscoring drought. He did score against Leganés, but that wasn't enough to stop Madrid crashing out. Year after year he's seen how competition for his starting place is always reduced. Sometimes because of the coach's wishes, other times because the club preferred it (adiós Raúl, Higuaín, Adebayor, Chicharito, Morata, Mariano...)
Maybe Benzema chose the song at random. If he did, he couldn't have chosen a worse one...
