Laporte will be a Man City player on Monday
According to El Correo, the French central defender will not play against Eibar this weekend and join up with Pep Guardiola at the start of next week for 65 million euros.
Aymeric Laporte will officially become a Manchester City player this coming Monday, 29 January 2018.
Laporte: the 65 million defender for City
According to Basque news outlet El Correo, Athletic Bilbao's French central defender will take no part in Friday evening's Liga match against Eibar but instead will travel to Manchester to complete a medical. The Premier League club will pay the player's release clause of 65 million euros and Laporte himself will earn seven million euros net in each of the six seasons of the contract.
Several lawyers representing Manchester City have met with the Bilbao club since Wednesday to thrash out the transfer details following plans laid out over recent weeks. Despite Athletic coach Jose Angel Ziganda saying that he was still counting on the defender earlier in the week, it looks as though that ship has sailed.
