French striker Samir Nasri is a free agent following the termination of his two-year contract with Turkish side Antalyaspor just five months after signing.

The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Sevilla forward, whose career seems to have hit a new low, is also the subject of doping allegations after having used an intravenous drip at a Los Angeles clinic in 2016.

If found culpable, the Frenchman could face a four-year ban.

Nasri failed to impress

The 30-year-old striker, who arrived to Turkey from Manchester City five months ago, was on a €4m-a-year wage package at Antalyaspor.

However, he failed to impress during his short spell, scoring only two goals in eight league games. He hadn’t appeared for the Turkish side since November.

“Our roads were separated by mutual agreement with Samir Nasri which we transferred during 2017-2018 season. We thank him for his contribution to the club until today,” Antalyaspor tweeted.

With 18 points from 19 matches, the club now sits in the Turkish Super Lig’s relegation zone.

Free agent

As a free agent, Nasri has the chance to join a new club after Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

There are rumors of Premier League sides Newcastle and West Ham developing an interest for the Frenchman.

Nasri has also been linked with the Mexican football tycoons Tigres UANL.
