REAL MADRID 5 - REAL SOCIEDAD 2
Sergio Ramos: "We're playing for our season against PSG"
The Real Madrid captain said that the opening 45 minutes against La Real was the way to go against the Ligue 1 leaders. "We were accurate in front of goal."
Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos spoke to the pitch-side reporter after his team brushed Real Sociedad aside on Saturday, with the focus now firmly on PSG next Wednesday.
Opening 45 minutes: “From the first minute today the team went out to play football, to keep possession, to press the opposition and to try and rob the ball high up the pitch and we noticed a huge difference. In terms of shooting chances, we were accurate in front of goal.”
Ramos: "I'd be lying if I said we weren't thinking about PSG"
Second-half relaxation: “I would be lying if I said we weren’t thinking about PSG. Everything depends on that tie, we’re playing for our season. We could have gone all out but we can’t keep up that rhythm for 90 minutes. We knew we needed to leave something in the tank. The goal was to gain some confidence and we did that today.”
PSG: “The game today was what any side wants, football is a game based on intensity and attitude. You can’t always play your best but that is always the intention.”
Jeers for Benzema: “We have never been anything without our fans and we need everybody behind us more than ever against PSG. Let’s leave the whistles to one side.”
