Dembele winning over the Barcelona dressing room
The opinion of Ousmane Dembele in the Barcelona dressing room couldn't be higher as he wades his way through a tough first season with his head held high.
Barcelona players are really taking to Ousmane Dembele and his confidence as he looks to have overcome some early injury concerns at his time at the Camp Nou. "He never hides," is one phrase heard about the French winger. "Another player would have already gone to the floor already," is another one coming from the dressing room at the Ciutat Esportiva.
An operation in Finland and four months on the sideline after he ruptured a tendon early on in the season would have floored many, not to mention the relapse he suffered before missing another month. "He has to go and he will go far: he must to keep growing" they say in Barcelona's dressing room after Barca beat Girona 6-1 on Saturday night when Dembele seemingly forget about the pressure on him to perform and the fact that he is the second most expensive player in the club's history.
In that game, Dembele worked hard and recovered the ball more often than anyone else in azulgrana (seven), tried the most one-on-ones (four successful on six attempts) and had 18 dribbles, along with touching the ball 52 times.
