Sevilla eyeing up a move for Porto midfielder Óliver Torres
The former Atlético Madrid player has fallen off the radar a little under Sérgio Conceição and fits the bill for the Liga side according to reports.
Sevilla are keeping an eye on Óliver Torres’ situation at Porto with a view to signing the former Atlético midfielder in the summer, according to Portuguese daily Récord.
The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour with Porto coach Sérgio Conceição and is keen on a move back to Spain in the summer with Sevilla considering him a decent option to prop up their attack ahead of the 2018-19 season. Porto, meanwhile, need to jettison some players to balance the books.
Porto paid Atlético 20 million euros to make his loan deal from Atlético permanent in February 2017 in a season when Torres made 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times and providing three assists.
Torres not convincing Conceição this season
This season though Torres has seen his game time limited by Conceição. He has not made the starting line-up in Porto’s last six games and has come off the bench in only three of them. In all competitions this season Torres has made 19 appearances but only started 11 times and has played a total of just over 1,000 minutes.
If Conceição continues at the helf of Porto next season, which he almost assuredly will if he delivers a first title to the Estádio do Dragão since 2012-13, it seems that Torres’ future lies elsewhere.
