Madrid in to Champions League quarters for eighth consecutive year
Real Madrid have qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals in each of the last eight seasons. 2009/2010 was the last time they fell earlier.
Real Madrid's love affair with the Champions League continued on Tuesday night. Zinedine Zidane's side eliminated PSG at a canter to reach the quarter-final stage for the eighth consecutive season.
Madrid break last-16 hoodoo
Drama in the last-16 has long since gone. Los Blancos fell at that stage in six consecutive seasons: Juventus (04-05), Arsenal (05-06), Bayern (06-07), Roma (07-08), Liverpool (08-09) and Lyon (09-10).
In 2010-11 Madrid rediscovered their touch in Europe, and since then they have cruised through the last-16 at each time of asking: Lyon (10-11), CSKA Moscow (11-12), Manchester United (12-13), twice against Schalke 04 (13-14 and 14-15), Roma (15-16), Napoli (16-17) and PSG (17-18).
In the seven seasons that came before this campaign, Madrid went on to reach four semi-finals and three finals. Those three finals delivered three victories: twice against Atlético Madrid and once against Juventus.
