Málaga midfielder Samu García was sent off after 29 minutes of LaLiga match against Barcelona for a brutal challenge on Jordi Alba. The Málaga player went in from behind, with no possibility of getting the ball, and made full-blooded contact with Alba's right ankle.

The referee, Martínez Munuera, didn't have a clear view of the action, but having spoken to his assistant referee he had no doubts about sending Samu off.
Alba recovered
Alba was attended to by the Barcelona physio, and was clearly struggling just after the incident, but managed to carry on with no obvious adverse effects.
