Zidane can count on Raphael Varane for the Madrid derby
Varane trained along in the gym on Thursday but recovered and rejoined the group on Friday and will be ready for the Madrid derby on Sunday.
French central defender, Raphael Varane, is ready for the Madrid derby having trained with his teammates on Friday having trained in the gym on his own on Thursday. The game at the Santiago Bernabéu takes place at 16:15 CEST on Sunday and with Nacho already ruled out, Varane's availability is a massive boost for Zinedine Zidane's side.
Zidane worked with Oscar Rodriguez, 19-year-old attacking midfielder from Real Madrid Castilla along with Dario Ramos, the goalkeeper from los Blancos' Juvenil A side. They did possession and pressure drills on the sideline along with shooting practise and then a game on small pitches.
On Saturday, Real Madrid will training again at Valdebebas at 11:00 with the first 15 minutes open to the media followed be a press conference.
