Roma's fond message to Mo Salah after Liverpool tie decided
Friday's draw for the Champions League semi finals pitted Serie A side Roma against the Premier League's Liverpool, meaning a familiar friend was coming back.
AS Roma, the team that shocked the footballing world with their incredible comeback against FC Barcelona, found out their Champions League semi-final opponent on Friday. They were drawn against Liverpool which means a reunion for the Serie A side and the player that left them last summer, Mohamed Salah.
The Salah-Roma affair continues
The Egyptian forward has been one of the protagonists of the Premier League and Champions League campaigns this season, scoring goals, breaking records and generally being a lovely guy. And it is clear from the messages coming from the official Roma social media team that the fondness between club and player remains.
"We’ll be opponents for 180 minutes, but whatever happens we’ll remain friends for life. Looking forward to seeing you again," read one message on Twitter immediatley after the tie was confirmed.
Salah played for two seasons with Roma prior to his move to The Reds and his former club, the squad and the supporters have fond memories of the player, as he does of them.

And it seems that the affection is shared by others in the respective squads as demonstrated in this Twitter exchange between two Dutchmen, Roma's Kevin Strootman and Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum.
Even the two owners have a connection to each other. James Pallotta and John W. Henry are both Boston-based billionaires who enjoy buying up sports teams. Roma's Pallotta joked about their bond after the draw.
