Real Madrid have joined the queue for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to a report from ESPN.

The 20-year-old Jamaica-born youth international, who has yet to commit to a senior national side, has been in sparkling form for the Bundesliga side this season and chipped in nine goals and six assists as Die Werkself qualified for the Europa League while adding three goals in his side’s run to the DFB-Pokal semi-finals.

Bailey has been attracting interest from across Europe, with reports suggesting Bayern Munich have opened the bidding at 60 million euros, while Manchester City and several other European heavyweights have all been credited with an interest.

Real Madrid have now apparently targeted the winger as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale, who is considering his future at the Bernabéu after being relegated to the bench more often than he would like this season, although a late resurgence in form may yet lead to a start in the Champions League final in Kiev next Saturday.

However, the stumbling block is in the fee Levekusen will hope to extract for their prized asset; the Bundesliga club are believed to be holding out for somewhere in the region of 100 million euros for the youngster.
