Antonio Mohamed new Celta Vigo coach
'El Turco' has signed a one-year contract with Celta Vigo, with the option of a second year, and will be unveiled as the new coach in the coming days
Celta have already found a replacement for outgoing coach Juan Carlos Unzue, in the form of Ricardo Antonio Mohamed Matijevich, aka El Turco. The Argentinean, who has left his post with Mexican club Monterrey, has signed a one-year contract with Celta, with the option of a second, and will be unveiled at the Balaidos stadium in the coming days.
The right man for the job
Celta's board believe they have found the right man for the job in Mohamed, who is known for his strong personality and an attacking style, which is very similar to that of former Celta coach Eduardo Berizzo. El Turco's coaching career has so far been in Argentina and Mexico, where in the latter he won two leagues titles and one cup with different teams. Other career highlights include winning the South American Cup with Independiente de Avellaneda and helping Huracán to prompotion to the First Division.
