Official: Lunin joins Real Madrid

The Ukranian goalkeeper is the first signing of the Lopetegui era, joining on a long term deal.

Update:
Official: Lunin joins Real Madrid

Real Madrid confirmed this afternoon what had been widely rumoured: Andriy Lunin has joined the Spanish giants. The former FC Zorya Luhansk goalkeeper comes in on a six year deal and is the first signing of the Lopetegui era. Information about his remuneration package has not been released.

The deal, according to goal.com, was done for nine million euros, plus a further 4.4 million in add-ons. Lunin will be joining the Real Madrid B team Castilla, under the orders of Solari, though he might also be sent on loan.

Lunin finally chooses Real Madrid

The player finally chose Real Madrid after his father, two days admitted he still hadn't made up his mind: "There's a firm offer from Real Madrid, but he won't sign anything today. We're still evaluating the offer for Andriy, but lots of other clubs, including Napoli, are interested."

Real Madrid chooses youth

Lunin is another young signing from Real Madrid, with the clear aim being to maintain an elite level squad without having to sign fully formed players, who proving incredibly expensive in the new footballing order. The arrival of Lunin, a bet on the future, doesn't in any way rule out another, more experienced, keeper being signed this summer.
