Nehuén Pérez: Atlético Madrid confirm deal for defender
The Argentinian defender has penned a six-year contract with Atlético after passing a medical in Madrid on Tuesday.
Atlético Madrid have confirmed the signing of young Argentinian central defender Nehuén Pérez on a six-year deal from Argentinos Juniors.
The 18-year-old, who Atlético had been tracking for several months, passed a medical in Madrid on Tuesday before putting pen to paper with the LaLiga club.
Trained with Argentina squad at Russia 2018
Pérez, who trained with the Argentina squad during their World Cup campaign in Russia, will initially return to Argentinos Juniors on a season-long loan.
Speaking to AS earlier this week before finalising his Atlético transfer, Pérez admitted it was a "dream" to be signing for Los Rojiblancos.
Pérez at Atlético Madrid's Gabi farewell
Pérez was among those present as Atlético said farewell to club captain Gabi Fernández in a ceremony in the Spanish capital on Tuesday.
Gabi, 34, has agreed to a move to Qatari side Al-Sadd, having made 417 appearances for Atlético in three separate spells with the club.
