Two goals for Belgium and it's free TVs for Red Devils fans

This was the announcement that Krëfel, a retail appliance chain in the country, offered its customers before the World Cup began. That is to say, if Roberto Martinez' troops managed to score at least 16 goals in their campaign, anyone who bought a TV would receive their money back.

And with Belgium's two goals against England in the third/fourth place match, Belgium hit the target of 16, meaning there will be refunds galore for the lucky Belgium fans who bought a TV.

Just two more goals to go after Brazil beaten

The company clearly appear not to have had much faith in the striking potential of its national side. But with players like Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Kevin de Bruyne on show, Belgium have finished third, scoring 16 goals in the process.

Belgium's previous goals had come in their quarter-final win against pre-tournament favourites Brazil, as an own goal by Fernandinho and a fine strike by De Bruyne saw the Red Devils seal a 2-1 triumph in Kazan to dump the five-time winners out of the tournament.

Players aim to help fans get free TV

When news of the promotion emerged, it didn't take long to reach some of those men directly responsible for the results. Napoli striker Dries Mertens joked at a press conference: "I have many friends who bought their TV there and I'm doing everything to get them it for free," he said.
