Luka Modric has helped his national team to the World Cup final to be played on Sunday and he spoke to reporters after the historic victory over England.

World Cup final: "For a country like Croatia, it's something historic to be in the final of a World Cup."

Lack of respect from England: "You always have to respect other teams and to keep your feet on the ground. But it doesn't bother me what others say. We are focused on ourselves. It's a motivation when you see them saying stupid things. And they were wrong because this team has a lot of character and we came out and showed it."

The game: "You have to be proud of the second half and extra-time. It looked like as the game advanced, we improved physically and that was impressive."

France: "We expect a really tough team in the final, I think they're more difficult than England. I think they're the toughest competition for us in the World Cup."

Cristiano: "I said that Cristiano would stay because that's what I wanted, but I didn't know anything. Cristiano is unique and it's a pity that he left. I wish him the best, but not so much when he plays against Real Madrid. I thank him for everything he did at Real Madrid."

Balon d'Or: "For me, it's not important, I already said that. The only wish I have is to lift the cup for Croatia."

A promise: "If we win, all the team will dye our hair."
