Infantino reflects on Spain's part in the 'best ever' World Cup
The president of Fifa, Gianni Infantino, spoke after the 2018 World Cup final and gave his view surrounding the situation with the Spanish national team.
Gianni Infantino, president of world football's governing body, Fifa, spoke to Mediaset following the 2018 World Cup Final, which saw France beat Croatia 4-2. The Swiss-Italian came away from the tournament very pleased, including the performance of the Video Assistant Referee system that was introduced for the first time in a major international event.

On the organisation of the 2018 World Cup: "I am not objective, but for me it was the best World Cup of all time."
On the Spanish situation: "Fenando Hierro is a friend of mine and has done a great job. Rubiales is also a friend. He had to make a brave call, but the right one."
On the Spain team: "Following the game against Portugal, I said to my friends that Spain were going to be the world champions. Later they lost on penalties to Russia, but Spain has the players, the team, everything to recapture the best results."
