Bayern won't put a price on Thiago but the door is open
The midfielder is keen on a move back to Barcelona and Bayern won't stand in his way but they want Barcelona to make an offer and they refuse to put a price on him.
At the Camp Nou, nobody has ruled out the return of Thiago Alcántara, even though they know any potential deal would be difficult. After five seasons at the Allianz Arena, Thiago knows that now is as good a time as any to return to the place where he grew up. He knows that despite the signing of Arthur, Barcelona need a player who would not need a lot of time to adapt to their style of play.
Thiago is all for a move home and Bayern are reportedly willing to let him go provided they are recompensated fairly. The issues start when Barça ask for a place to start negotiating while the German side have refused. They want the Spanish side to make an offer and to start from there.
"They don't want to put a price on him although Bayern would accept the move," a sources told Diario AS. The Spanish midfielder left Barcelona five years ago for €25 million and his transfer might be easier than the deals the club are currently trying to push through including Frenkie de Jong and Adrien Rabiot along with Willian from Chelsea, who Barcelona are ready to make another move for.
"We are not looking for drama," say Barcelona executives, "The first one to come out and convince us will be picked."
