In an interview with Ekipa newspaper in his home coutry of Slovenia, UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, says the decision on whether PSG violated financial fair play rules or not will take some time and that Real Madrid are not waiting on the decision. The director also answered questions about VAR in the Champions League.

"The decision regarding PSG will be made later. It's not true that Real Madrid are waiting on the decision," he said.

The Ligue 1 side bought Neymar for a world record fee of €222 million last summer and followed that up with a €180 million transfer of Kylian Mbappe, which was a loan with a deferred payment. A decision was initially made to absolve PSG of any wrongdoing but a case was reopened to examine further their spending.

Cerefin said they "haven't talked about this" when asked about VAR in the Champions League. "I am still not convinced by VAR. There are things that are still not clear. Who decides to see VAR? The video ref or the main referee? People don't understand it and neither do journalists. We know that one day it will be necessary to use VAR, when we are ready."
