Gareth Bale has undergone a scan and the results show no damage after he was taken off against Atlético Madrid on Saturday night during the Madrid derby. The Welsh man did not travel to Moscow with the rest of the squad on Sunday but will be with them on their return and should be ready for action soon.

It was suspected that it was simply an overload on the muscle after he was whipped off at half-time at the Bernabeu on Saturday and that appears to be the case after a hectic start to the season where the Welshman has undertaken a lot of rhe responsibility in attack after Cristiano Ronaldo's departure.

Bale's involvement in Real Madrid's upcoming games after injury scare

Bale will miss the Champions League tie in Moscow but Real Madrid play Alavés next Saturday and follow that up with the visit of Levante after the international break. He should be available for both games.

Bale has suffered from injuries in the past during this period of the season as the schedule ramps up but this comes as good news for Real Madrid after a trying run of games. He will rest for the Champions League game and return to LaLiga where he has started every game bar one to start the season.

Wales play Spain on the 11th of October and it remains to be seen if Bale plays in that but with the Clásico coming up at the end of the month, Real Madrid might push for their attacker to be rested for that tie.
