Isco on the mend: "I can't wait to get back playing"
The Real Madrid midfielder posted a photo and message on Instagram to say that he has had his stitches taken out following surgery on a ruptured appendix.
Isco was the first victim following the recent The Best gala. Almost as soon as the euphoria of the event had died down, Julen Lopetegui received the bad news about Isco's appendicitis - just as the squad were about to set off for Seville for their mid-week league engagement at the Sánchez Pizjuán, which ended in a painful 3-0 defeat.
The club didn't reveal the reason why Isco had failed to take to the training pitches in Valdebebas but later issued a medical report confirming that the player was suffering “acute appendicitis” and would undergo surgery that afternoon.
Just a few hours later, the player went under the knife at Madrid's Sanitas-La Moraleja clinic. The operation was a complete success as Isco himself announced with a picture story on his Instagram account: "Thank you very much for all of the messages of support I've received - it all went well! a bug hug!" wrote the midfielder, who has missed three games (Sevilla, Atlético and CSKA Moscow) and is expected to sit out Madrid's next games against Alavés, Levante and Viktoria Plzen but hopefully will be back in time for El Clásico on 28 October.
