Godín almost certain to miss Barcelona's visit to the Wanda
Atlético confirmed that the Uruguayan has suffered an injury affecting the semitendinosus muscle in his left hamstring and will miss the next game on 24 November.
Atlético de Madrid have released a medical report on Diego Godín, to confirm that the Uruguayan defender has suffered an injury affecting the semitendinosus muscle in his left hamstring - an injury which is likely to keep him sidelined for the next three to four weeks.
"I knew I'd torn the muscle" - Godín
Godín suffered the injury in Saturday's meeting with Athletic Club, although it didn't stop him from scoring an heroic, stoppage-time winner for the Rojiblancos. "I know I could have suffered a tear - 20 days or a month out, I know my body pretty well. I made the minimum amount of effort to not aggravate my injury. I couldn't do anything off the pitch but on it, at least I could do something - and it all paid off. It always goes through your mind that you could be making youself worse, but I had to stay on and do what I could".
Atlético's injury problems at the back
Godín joins Lucas, Giménez and Savic on the sidelines just two weeks before Barcelona visit the Wanda Metropolitano on 24 November. According to medical experts consulted by AS, Giménez is facing a fortnight out - however the total recovery time could be four weeks; Lucas meanwhile is estimated to be out for two to three weeks and could also miss the Barça game.
