Iker Casillas would happily return to Real Madrid and Spain squad
Iker Casillas will be remembered as a legend for most Spaniards and Madridistas, and the Porto goalkeeper has discussed a return to either set-ups.
Iker Casillas is back on Spanish TV without his gloves on as part of the of the Universo Valdano programme, presented by Jorge Valdano. It will be aired on Wednesday 21 November at 10:30pm local time, but we were able to get our hands on an advance in which Casillas talks about the idea of being called back to Real Madrid or to the Spanish national team.
Iker return to Madrid or Spain
The current Porto number one, who is celebrating his fourth season in Portugal, showed off his more mature and thoughtful side during the discussion. He spoke about his departure from Real Madrid and didn't rule out a possible return to the Bernabéu or, for that matter, the Spain set-up, despite not being involved since the Euros in France.
"I believe that I took the right step. I think that if I had continued at Real Madrid I would have had a worse end than I did have," said Casillas, who was pushed out of Los Blancos in the summer of 2015, after a relationship breakdown with José Mourinho.
"I am a Madridista, and I always want Madrid to win. It will be like that all my life."

And the former captain hasn't completely closed the door to a possible return for home club or country.
"If the national team calls you up, would you go back?" came the question. "I'd be delighted," was Iker's reply.
"And if you get the call from Madrid, would you go back there?" Casillas was in no doubt: "Of course, I can't forget where I grew up."
Spain: Casillas vs De Gea
With first choice stopper David de Gea again in the spotlight after the defeat against Croatia, there are a number of voices demanding the return of Iker Casillas. The best season in Porto so far is supporting his candidacy, with statistics showing a goal conceded every 135 minutes compared to one every 62 minutes for his Manchester United compatriot, albeit in a stronger league. Then there are other Spaniards waiting in the wings, most notably Chelsea's Kepa, the most expensive goalkeeper ever.
Could we see Luis Enrique call him up again. With a World Cup and two European Championships in the bag for La Roja, his experience cannot be questioned. And these comments have certainly invited the offer.
