REAL MADRID
Official: Brahim Díaz joins Real Madrid
The Spanish attacker has signed for six and a half years for €15 million from Manchester City and will fight for a place in the first team immediately.
Brahim Díaz is officially a Real Madrid the club have announced. He will be presented to fans on Monday January 7 at 13:30.
Díaz, who joined City from Málaga in 2015, signed a six-and-a-half year deal at the Bernabéu running up to 2025 with Madrid paying a fee of 15 million euros up front with an additional five million in add-ons for one of the most sought-after young footballers in Europe.
The Madrid board decided to take the opportunity to act with Díaz out of contract in June and available on a free, with City happy to facilitate the deal in order to bank a considerable profit on a player who cost them 200,000 euros rather than lose him on a free next summer.
Díaz arrives into the first team and will wear number 21, which was vacated by Borja Mayoral when he left in the summer for Levante after the arrival of Mariano Díaz.
The club were going to announce it on Friday but there were some finals points in negotiating that needed clearing up. Those issues have been resolved and the attacking midfielder is ready to fight for a place in the first team.
