Natalia Simeone in Madrid to negotiate Diego's renewal
Diego Simeone's agent and sister, Natalia, is in Madrid to discuss an Atlético Madrid contract renewal with Cholo laying out terms for his stay.
It is Miguel Ángel Gil Marín's main priority. He wants to ensure Diego Simeone's continuity at Atlético Madrid with a contract renewal beyond the expiration of his current deal, which runs until 2020.
Simeone has plenty of admirers around Europe and Gil Marín is aware of that fact. The club are speaking with Natalia, sister and agent of the Argentine, in the hopes of offering a deal that they simply can't refuse. She arrived in Madrid over the Christmas holidays and a meeting has been arranged in the coming days.
Simeone wants Oblak and Lucas stays along with two forwards
The willingness of both parties to engage in talks is high and the economics of a deal should not be a problem. One of Simeone's main point in negotiations is that the club keep Jan Oblak and Lucas Hernández and negotiations with the pair are going well. Hernández had been linked with a move to Bayern but Atlético are keen to keep the defender.
What felt like difficult deals to complete have been talked over and all parties invoved are closer to agreeing terms. It is believed that renewals for the two players could be announced shortly.
Simeone has also asked for two attackers next season also.
