Sevilla: Munir says goodbye to Barça: "I played with the best"

Munir El-Haddadi has bade an emotional fareweel to Barcelona after joining Sevilla on a permanent transfer.

The 23-year-old striker had fallen out of favour at Camp Nou and was surplus to requirements under Ernesto Valverde, leading Barça to accept an offer of just over a million euros.

Munir joined Barça at the age of 16 from Rayo Majadahonda but never managed to nail down a starting place and spent last season on loan at Alavés, scoring 14 goals in 37 games.

So far this season after returning to Camp Nou, Munir played just 392 minutes in all competitions and despite a contract offer being put on the table, it has been reported that Munir’s agent demanded a succulent fee as part of the deal and Barça decided to cut their losses.

Munir to Barça fans: "I will always carry you in my heart"

The striker, who has one cap for Spain, will act as back-up to Wissam Ben Yedder and André Silva at the Sánchez Pizjuán, and took the opportunity on Saturday to post a message of thanks for his time at Barcelona.

“I arrived at this club at the age of 16 with the enthusiasm of a child and the dreams that all of us who trained at La Masía had. I lived the reality of growing up and sharing a dressing room with the world’s best players and although I had to leave on two occasions I always came back and kept trying. Now I have to leave again. On this occasion I am committing myself to a club who also approach football in the right way. I will always carry you in my heart. #ForçaBarça.
