Neymar unlikely to play against Manchester United
PSG’s Brazilian striker is suffering from a foot injury ahead of the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 fixture.
The chances of PSG striker Neymar turning out against Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 are extremely low, according to a medical report revealed on French TV channel Telefoot.
Neymar unlikely to feature at Old Trafford
The match is scheduled for Tuesday 12 February at Old Trafford, and the Brazilian’s injury to the fifth metatarsal in his right foot will almost certainly prevent him from taking part in the clash.
Neymar injured the foot during the French Cup win over Strasbourg on Wednesday, appearing to twist the foot in the aftermath of a stiff challenge from Moataz Zemzemi. The injury is to the same bone Neymar broke last season in February, against Olympique de Marseille.
However, there is one indication that the player may return sooner than expected, with Neymar already able to walk on the foot, indicating the injury may be evolving more favourably than expected.
PSG play Rennes in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes this evening, Sunday. Neymar is of course not in the squad.
