After working his way into the Real Madrid side on the left wing previously occupied by Cristiano Ronaldo, Brazilian star Vinicius Junior has now also taken over the role of pre-game talisman in the unofficial photograph ahead of major European games that became famous last season as Real lifted a third consecutive Champions League trophy.

During 2017-18, Ronaldo’s final season at the Bernabéu, the Portuguese and his Brazilian teammates Marcelo and Casemiro were photographed before the ties against PSG, Juventus and Bayern, becoming known as the “Three Musketeers.”

As Madrid prepared to travel to face Ajax in the last 16 of this season’s competition, a new face was required to complete the set and perhaps unsurprisingly, Marcelo and Casemiro recruited their compatriot Vinicius to complete the set. Both Brazil internationals have taken the 18-year-old under their wing since his arrival at the Bernabéu and he has flourished on the pitch recently, drawing praise for his performances in games against Sevilla, Barcelona and Atlético, chipping in with eight goals and 11 assists across all competitions in 2018-19.
