UEFA open case against Ramos over yellow card controversy
The Real Madrid captain said he forced the yellow before backtracking on those comments but UEFA will investigate whether he wanted to be booked.
UEFA have opened a disciplinary case against Sergio Ramos regarding his comments about forcing a yellow card against Ajax on Wednesday night.
The central defender was celebrating his 600th game in the Real Madrid jersey but was booked late on for a needless clip on Kasper Dolberg's ankle. The yellow means he will miss out on the second leg at the Santiago Bernabéu.
After the game he said he forced the yellow so he could clear his yellow card count ahead of a potential quarter-final but footage of him asking the bench if he should look for a card could scupper any hopes he has of winning the case. He has sinced denied that he forced the card.

Moreover, a disciplinary investigation has been initiated based on Article 31(3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations in connection with the statements made by Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos in the above-mentioned match.
