Solari could try Asensio as a false nine for Saturday's Clásico
Benzema needs a rest and Solari could call on Asensio to play as a false nine on Saturday with chances too for Bale and Marcelo in the Clásico.
Marco Asensio could be Solari's big surprise on Saturday as Barcelona travel to the Bernabéu for the second time in a week with a LaLiga title race hanging in the balance. Solari could even try him as a false nine after his good display against Ajax when he replaced Benzema in the 73rd minute of the Champions League game in Amsterdam.
The main reason behind the potential move is to give Benzema a breather. The French striker has played in 41 of Real Madrid's 43 games this season and in 95% of their total minutes. Solari has an obligation to look after the club's top scorer with three pivotal games across seven days. Where there lies no doubt is in the middle of the field where Casemiro, Modric and Kroos will start.
Chances for Bale and Marcelo
Solari could also give chances to Bale and Marcelo as starters in the fourth Clásico of the season. The Welsh attacker could be displaced out on the right with Vinicius set to start on the left. Marcelo has only played in 57% of Real Madrid minutes this season but he could start despite his last outing ending in a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Girona.
