Real Madrid: Vinicius, Lucas injured, substitute Bale jeered
Gareth Bale did not get a warm reception from the Real Madrid fans as he replaced the injured Lucas Vázquez. Vinicius limped off soon after.
Real Madrid's shock Champions League last-16 exit to Ajax came amid a double injury blow as both Lucas Vázquez and Vinicius were forced off with first-half injuries on Tuesday night.
Bale booed as he replaces Lucas
In a 4-1 second leg defeat that sealed a 5-3 aggregate win for the Dutchmen, Vázquez limped off with an apparent muscle issue after half an hour, and was substituted by Gareth Bale - who was loudly jeered by the Bernabéu crowd as he came on.
Five minutes later, Vinicius left the field in tears after pulling up with a similar problem, with Marco Asensio coming on for the young Brazilian.
Vinicius on run of 19 successive appearances
Vinicius, who has featured for a total of 1,587 minutes across 27 Madrid games this season, has not missed a match for three months, amassing 19 consecutive appearances since starting Los Blancos' 3-0 Champions League defeat to CSKA Moscow on 12 December.
