Julen Lopetegui's agent, Carlos Bucero, has denied reports that the former Real Madrid manager has taken the club to court in an effort to recieve the €28 million salary, which he was set to earn over the three years of his contract. Onda Cero reported on Thursday that Lopetegui was going down the legal route to get the payment.

"The termination of the contract between Julen and Real Madrid was resolved in five minutes and with a good relationship between both parties," he said on Twitter. "Everything was stipulated in the contract and there is no judicial process underway."

The former Spain coach was sacked by the national team before the World Cup when news leaked out about his agreement to become Real Madrid manager after the tournament. After 14 games at the helm at the Bernabéu, he was sacked with a record of six wins, two draws and six losses.

In an interview with Partidazo de COPE recently, he said, "I am grateful to Madrid. It was a sensational experience and with the fans. I wish them the best."
