REAL MADRID - CELTA

Anti-Florentino Pérez banners removed from Bernabéu

Some supporters arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu to protest the current Real Madrid president amid a very poor season, but they didn't stay for long.

Florentino Pérez was the focus of attention in the first half of the Real Madrid-Celta Vigo game on Saturday. Los Blancos' president was sent a message via banners in the stands, and club stewards were then charged with removing them from the crowds in the Santiago Bernabéu.

'Go now Florentina'

There were at least two protests in the form of these banners. In one of them it could be read: "Florentino, go now" and in the other, "Florentino, guilty". They were not up for long, however, as the security staff in the stadium collected them.

A member of the club who witnessed what happened spoke to AS. "They took away banners saying that Florentino was the culprit [for a poor season] and those saying he should resign. Security arrived and threw them out, removing the placards and taking them out of the stadium."

Madrid went on to beat Celta 2-0 as Zinedine Zidane took charge for the first game of his second spell. Now Zizou can focus on the rest of his to-do list.
