Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara are one of the most publicised couples in the footballing world and in recent days a story has come to light that claims to recall a tense episode at the beginning of their relationship.

As is widely known, the couple met through Maxi Lopez, Nara’s then husband and Icardi's former team mate at Sampdoria. Not long after the pair met, Nara broke off her marriage and started dating the current Inter Milan striker.

But early on in their relationship, Nara discovered her new beau had a secret that did not sit well with her, Argentine journalist and presenter Ángel de Brito has claimed.

The second phone for "little things"

"When Wanda and Mauro met, Mauro had two cell phones and one disappeared one day," De Brito told Argentine television program Los Angeles de la Mañana.

"One was his official phone and another one was for 'little things'. And one day Wanda got angry because she discovered the one for 'little things'. It was a phone for girls, which was fine because he was single at the time. But when Wanda found it they were on a yacht and she threw it into the sea.”

Evidently, the new couple overcame that early episode and went on to marry in 2014 before having their two daughters, Francesca and Isabella, joining Nara’s three children from her previous marriage to Maxi López.

Today the couple and the five children live together in Milan, where Nara also works as Icardi’s agent. Nara has represented her husband in the tense contract negotiations with Inter Milan that have repeatedly made headlines in recent months, with many blaming her for the breakdown in the relationship between Icardi and the Italian club.

Icardi was stripped of the captain’s armband last month by coach Luciano Spalletti and has not played for Inter since, although Nara has maintained he wants to stay at the club, who have claimed to have had a "cordial" meeting with the pair recently.
