Star Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah told club bosses that he wanted to leave at the end of the season after a major row with coach Jurgen Klopp, according to dressing room sources who spoke to this newspaper.

Salah on point of putting in transfer request to leave Liverpool

According to the sources, the Egyptian was so angry over the altercation that he was considering putting in a transfer request, however Liverpool’s owners stepped in to calm the situation down and persuade the player to drop the idea. In exchange they promised they would help him leave at the end of the season if he still feels leaving Anfield is the right thing to do.

Salah’s representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, appeared to indicate later on Twitter that he believed the incident had not occurred.

Over the Easter weekend French journalist Frédéric Calenge on Téléfoot said that Salah and Klopp had indeed fallen out, with the bad feeling between them stoking the chances of a possible move.

Salah: highly-prized around Europe

If Salah were to come onto the market many of Europe’s major teams would be interested in signing one of the most highly-prized players around at the moment. He’s scored 22 goals in 45 games this season, in which he’s not quite managed to hit the heights of last season where he scored 44 goals in 52 games and finished second in the race for the Golden Shoe.
