Reina sends Alisson some love for equalling Liverpool record
The former Anfield hero was quick to send the current stopper his congratulations after he equalled the record he set some years ago.
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina was quick to congratulate the current owner of the Anfield gloves, Alisson Becker, after the Brazilian equalled his record of 20 straight matches unbeaten in the Premier League, and for becoming the fifth goalkeeper in the English league to have kept at least 20 clean sheets.
Reina respect for Alisson
Becker achieved the milestone on Friday evening as The Reds ran out 5-0 winners over Huddersfield Town, putting them back on top of the Premier League in what has turned out to be a thrilling battle with Manchester City. He still has two more league games - not to mention a Champions League double header against Barcelona - to make his mark on his already significantly impressive first season at Anfield.
The now Milan goalkeeper, who achieved his own 20-day record with Liverpool in the 2005/06 and 2008/09 seasons, congratulated his Brazilian colleague on Twitter: 'Congrats @Alissonbecker and @LFC!! Let’s keep it up for a couple more. Fantastic on his first season !!' and listed the other stoppers to have done likewise.
