Paris Saint-Germain are expected to make another big splash in the transfer market this summer in their pursuit of European glory but will have to sell before they can buy big with UEFA and Financial Fair Play issues dogging the club’s actions in the market.

Adrein Rabiot will be leaving in the summer and PSG have already identified Thomas Meunier, Christophe Nkunku and Stanley Nsoki as expendable with the Belgium international having been linked with a move to Spurs and one former Premier League player could also be on the move: Ángel di María.

The Argentina international has been one of PSG’s more consistent performers over the course of his four seasons at the Parc des Princes but the club know they will have to part with at least one big name to balance the books. Edinson Cavani is a fan favourite and a guarantee of goals and it seems unlikely PSG will willingly part with Neymar or Kylian Mbappé, leaving the 31-year-old as the most likely candidate among the attacking line.

The winger can still command a considerable fee given that he is under contract at PSG until 2021 and both Atlético Madrid and Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the former Real Madrid man by L’Èquipe.

Meanwhile, Atlético are looking to next season and as well as an overhaul of the defence are eyeing fresh impetus up front and the French daily reported that scouts from the Liga side were present at the game between Lyon and Lille to watch Ferland Mendy, a full back for the former, and the in-demand Lille winger Nicolás Pépé.
