Real Madrid: "After signing Eden Hazard, Zidane will try to get Mo Salah" - Canal+

Canal + France journalist Philippe Carayon believes Real Madrid want to sign Liverpool's Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah.

Real Madrid: "After signing Eden Hazard, Zidane will try to get Mo Salah" - Canal+

According to Canal+ journalist Philippe Carayon, Real Madrid are planning to launch a campaign to try to lure Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool - once they have completed the signing of Eden Hazard from Chelsea. Hazard is believed to have agree terms with Madrid with reports of a 100 million euro transfer fee. The Spanish giants are also rumoured to have agreed a 60 million euro fee for Eintracht Frankfurt's Luka Jovic, who will provide competition for Karim Benzema.

But Carayon insists that Madrid want Salah too: “As we know, Real Madrid are in the process of rebuilding the team and after completing the signing of Eden Hazard – we know that Hazard will announce his decision to leave Chelsea after the Europa League final – after the Hazard deal is done, Zidane and Real Madrid will be trying to sign another great forward, Mohamed Salah. Madrid’s idea is to form a potent, attacking trident,” he told Canal+ Sport.

Salah says he's happy

However Salah, who's currently recharging his batteries on a mini-break in Dubai, told Time magazine last month: "You know I'm happy that I'm here right now - after a long way. From my first day here at the club, I had a warm welcome from the fans. I feel the love. They give me motivation during the game. I feel supported by them, I feel their love when they sing my song - that means you're special". That doesn't sound like someone who is unhappy or thinking of leaving. For Liverpool to even consider selling him, he would first have to hand in a transfer request.

No big signings expected this summer at Liverpool

Around the same time as that Time Magazine interview, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp told reporters in a press conference that he is not expecting the club to make any big name signings this summer. Maybe, he explained, just a couple of additions to fine-tune a team which functions almost to perfection as a unit. Klopp will need to find replacements for players who will be moving on - either in the transfer market or bringing players up from the reserves. From what the coach has had to say, it seems extremely unlikely that the club would be willing to listen to offers for any of the front three: Firmino, Mané or Salah.
