Paris Saint-Germain first team manager Thomas Tuchel spoke to the media about the future of the Ligue 1 champions and, in particular, about his two main stars, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar Jr. Clearly there was an expectation that the 45-year old would be able to give some assurances to fans of the club that both players would continue in the French capital next season, but that was not forthcoming.

Uncertainty on Mbappé and Neymar

Asked about whether or not he would be able to call upon the services of the French and Brazilian forwards in the next campaign Tuchel raised further uncertainty on the back of the words from Mbappé in his player of the season acceptance speech on Sunday.

"This is football, we are not naive," he started. "Many clubs want to transfer many players. But if you ask me, the manager, yes, I want them here next season. But if not, we will find solutions."

Specifically about his young World Cup winner's comments at the awards evening, Tuchel replied.

"I was a bit hesitant after what Mbappé said. He has ideas, he is very intelligent, but he is encouraged, like all PSG players, to assume responsibility.

"He doesn't need to give a speech to say that. He's a special guy, and just wants to score, score and score again, to have all of the trophies possible. The guys are special, we have to accept that. I'm not annoyed.

"I'm not going to lose my head about that speech. I talk to Kylian every day, he knows what I want, we have a trusting relationship between us."

Mbappé has reportedly said that he is not looking for a contract extension with the Parisien club.
