Barcelona - Valencia: Copa del Rey team news, starting XIs

Barcelona face Valencia in tonight's Copa del Rey final in Seville with the chance to win the tournament for an unprecedented fifth year in a row - and, in the process, clinch a second straight league and cup double under coach Ernesto Valverde.

Despite their domestic domination in Valverde's time in charge, however, there are question marks over the boss' future, after their Champions League capitulation against Liverpool this month made it a season once again overshadowed by painful European elimination.

Valencia on a high after snatching Champions League spot

Valencia, on the other hand, come into this evening's showpiece event in considerably better spirits, having completed a remarkable fightback in the second half of the LaLiga campaign (indeed, they were 11th at its midway point) to pip Getafe and Sevilla to a top-four spot.

Barcelona are the Copa's most decorated club with 30 trophy triumphs, while Valencia are after their eighth domestic cup win, and their first since 2008.

Barcelona vs Valencia: injuries and suspensions

Barcelona: Striker Luis Suárez is out after having knee surgery following Barça's Champions League exit. Number-one goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is also unavailable due to knee trouble, and Jasper Cillessen - who has been the Blaugrana's regular custodian in the Copa anyway - will start between the sticks.

Suárez and Ter Stegen have been included in Barça's squad "without medical clearance", as have Nelson Semedo, Philippe Coutinho, Arthur, Ousmane Dembélé, Rafinha and Kevin-Prince Boateng - although Valverde said on Friday he was optimistic that selection doubts Semedo, Coutinho and Arthur would be fit.

Valencia: Los Che come into the final with fewer such concerns. Winger Denis Cheryshev remains on the sidelines with a knee problem suffered in late April, while there are doubts over whether or not Geoffrey Kondogbia will start, with the midfielder still returning to full match fitness after an injury lay-off.

We all get ups and downs. You only have to see what happened to Marcelino, who had a moment, or Real Madrid changing coach."

Marcelino García Toral, Valencia:

"This is a game in which we have to defend very well, be good with the ball when attacking and on the counter, and get the ball into the central block as much as possible. Obviously Barça will have more possession, like they do in most of their games, but we know what we've done well in games against Barcelona, what we need to adjust and where we've been better than them."
