Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid worth €60 million for Giovanni Lo Celso according to the BBC. The Real Betis midfielder thrived in LaLiga last season under Quique Setien and scored 16 goals.

The former PSG midfielder signed with the Seville-based side in August 2018 but they had an option to buy for €22 million. They activated that clause at the end of the season and could triple that outlay.

The 23-year-old has a €100 million release and the report says Betis are holding out for something close to this figure. Real Madrid are interested in signing Cristian Eriksen and Lo Celso could hold the key to that move.

He has been named in Argentina's Copa America squad which starts on June 14. Argentina's first game is against Colombia on 16 June. Lo Celso has played 12 times for his country following his debut in November 2017 and should add to that significantly given his performances last season at Betis.
