For the third time in a row, United States was eliminated at quarterfinals of the Under-20 World Cup, as the US youngsters were unable to beat Ecuador.

United States youth national team was left on the edge of the sixth game for the third time in a row at an Under-20 World Cup, despite being the only national team in the world to have reached the quarterfinal stage in three consecutive times. They had only reached semifinals once back in 1989 when they become fourth after losing the third-place game.

On Saturday, June 8 Tab Ramos squad couldn't beat the South American champions, Ecuador, who overcame the Bars and Stripes team in the front and took advantage of the US mistakes for the victory and the semifinal ticket.

Unable to reach the sixth match for the third consecutive time

After three World Cups without going through the group stage, in which New Zealand was the first World Cup in where the USA squad stepped into quarterfinals, but lost against Serbia in penalties.

South Korea 2017 painted as a good tournament, but despite passing first in the group stage and going all the way into quarterfinals, USA was defeated by Venezuela knocking them out for the second tournament in a row in the same stage.

Now, in Poland 2019, USYNT gets back to old feelings after being beaten by Ecuador, ending their semifinal dream, which is the sixth time to happen. First was in Australia 1993, Araba Emirates United in 2003, Canada 2007, and the three mentioned above.

United States will have to wait two years to try again, with a generation that already shines in European Leagues, which perhaps could reach the desirable semifinals in the Under-20 category.
