The official announcement of Ferland Mendy's signing, which was and should have been imminent, has been delayed due to problems with the medical exams that took place on June 4. A crew from Real Madrid's medical department left for France to do an exhaustive medidal on the left-back. There are doubts over his hip, however, that they want to ensure are not serious.

A definitive answer on whether he could sign was not obtained and not just because of the hip problems he has suffered from but because of the planning of the French squad that cut short the time to get everything sorted in time. Real Madrid along with Mendy came to the agreement to change the tests for a week that was more calm for both parties.

New medical to take place on 12 June after France game

The French footballer will played against Andorra on Tuesday and has agreed to take a flight straight after the game to the place where the medical will take place. One thing that the player has requested is that the medical take place in Paris where those closest to him are although there is a small chance that it takes place in Madrid.

Relations are good between Aulas and Florentino Pérez and that makes all of this possible with minimal fuss and there has been no signs that the signing is in dangerous. Mendy was one of Zidane's first requests and with his arrival, it means Reguilón will have a free pass to go on loan. The player is in daily contact with Zidane.

Now, however, is the time to wait. The player is calm because he believes the rumours about his hip issues have been misunderstood. Real Madrid are understandably wary and want to carry out their own analysis to close a signing that Zidane really wants.
