Wan-Bissaka: Man United in advanced talks with Crystal Palace
Manchester United are set to up their offer after having their initial bid turned down by Palace, who want a figure in excess of £50 million for the young defender.
Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka by entering fresh talks with Crystal Palace, according to The Guardian.
The British daily reports that the Red Devils will look to up their after having their initial bid rejected by Palace, who are looking for a figure in excess of £50 million (56 million euros) for the talented 21-year-old.
The young full back caught the eye of United after a stand-out debut season at Selhurst Park in which he played 39 games for Roy Hodgson’s side. And the player himself has reportedly expressed his desire to make the potential career defining switch to Old Trafford.
The Palace defender is one of several players that United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer wants to bring in to strengthen his side for next season after a disappoiting 2018/19 campaing. And after securing the signature of Swansea’s Daniel James, the Norwegian coach will hope to make Wan-Bissaka the second young British talent to join his squad this summer.
Wan-Bissaka prepares U21 Euro 2019
As United and Palace advance talks regarding his transfer, Wan-Bissaka is currently in camp with England's Under 21s ahead of their opening match against France in European Under-21 Championship on Tuesday.
The Three Lions find themselves in a tricky group with Les Bleus, Romania and Croatia, but will hope the likes of Wan-Bissaka, Leicester’s James Maddison and Manchester City’s Phil Foden can see them through to the last 16.
