Manchester United will not sell Pogba - reports
According to the Evening Standard, the English club are determined to stand firm despite the player looking for "new challenges".
Manchester United are determined not to sell Paul Pogba, according to the Evening Standard, despite the midfielder saying publicly that he is ready to leave the club for a "new challenge" and with major interest in the player from Real Madrid.
Manchester United determined not to let Pogba go to Real Madrid
The UK newspaper reports that United boss Ed Woodward is "determined" to keep Pogba and will refuse to entertain offers for him. The French star will be expected back at preseason training next month.
What remains to be seen is if United will truly want to hold onto a player who no longer wants to be at the club, particularly when they will be able to bring in a considerable sum for selling him. The Evening Standard reports that United would expect to demand a fee of at least 145 million euros for the France international. In addition to Real Madrid, Juventus are said to be keen on bringing Pogba back.
Real Madrid coach Zidane is known to be extremely keen on the 26-year-old and today's comments by the player appear to have moved the flirtation onto the next level. However if Manchester United continue to refuse to speak to Real Madrid, Pogba's only option will be to formally hand in a transfer request.
