Maurizio Sarri has got to work quickly at Juventus after joining the arch-rivals of his former club Napoli on his return to Serie A after a mildly bizarre season in the Premier League with Chelsea and has already identified the two players he wants the Allianz Stadium board to land him this summer.

According to Sportitalia, Mauro Icardi and Marquinhos are the two players Sarri has asked for but both come with considerable obstacles. In the case of the PSG defender, who earns 10 million euros a season at the Parc des Princes, there is the fee of around 50 million euros the Parisians will seek for the Brazil international. If signing the 25-year-old proves to be impossible, Juventus sporting director Pavel Nedved will look to either Merih Demiral (Sassuolo) or Mehdi Benatia (Al-Duhail).

Sarri is also keen on bringing in Icardi from Inter Milan to form a formidable attacking line with Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic. Whether or not he is able to acquire the Argentinean depends largely on Inter’s ability to replace him, with Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko top of their list of options.
