Real Madrid: total value of 10 loaned players jumps by 46%
The player who has seen the greatest jump in his valuation is Achraf Hakimi, whose value has increased six-fold during his first season at Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid’s lending system is working very well for the club, both financially and on the sporting front, as the total value of the ten players that are currently out on loan has increased by 46.12%, according to valuations on Transfermarkt.com.
Five, or half, of those players have seen their value increase since they left the Santiago Bernabéu; just two players – Borja Mayoral and Andrii Lunin – have had their value decrease; while the other three players have the same value as when they departed the club. Together, the accumulative value of the ten loaned players is currently 188.5 million players, up from 129 million euros when they each respectively exited.
Valued upwards: Hakimi, Kovacic, De Tomás
The player who has seen the greatest jump in his valuation is Achraf Hakimi, whose value has increased six-fold during his first season at Borussia Dortmund. The Moroccan was worth 5 million euros when he left the Spanish capital last summer, but is now valued at 30 million euros. And as part of the loan agreement, he still has one more season to grow and gain experience in the Bundesliga, where players like Dani Carvajal and Jesús Vallejo have successfully done so before him.
Chelsea loanee Mateo Kovacic has seen his value increase by 16.67%, from 30 million to 35 million euros; while Raúl de Tomas and Martin Odeegard are now worth more than triple the price when they left Madrid last summer. De Tomas’ valuation has grown from 6 million to 20 million euros during his time at Rayo Vallecano, while the Norwegian midfielder has had his price increase from 4 million to 15 million while at Dutch club, Vitesse.
But the player who has seen the greatest increase in relative terms is Oscar Rodriguez. The Spanish midfielder’s value has grown ten-fold, from 1 million to 10 million euros on the back of his 31 LaLiga appearances (and four goals) last season for Leganés, where he is set to stay. Also at Leganés is goalkeeper Lunin, who has seen his price tag fall 11.8% since he left Real Madrid, from 8.5 million to 7.5 million. The Ukrainian played just five games in goal for Los Pepineros last season.

Mayoral and Lunin drop; no change for James
Meanwhile, Borja Mayoral has witnessed the largest devaluation, from 7.5 million to 4 million euros (a 46.67% decrease). The young striker scored just three goals in 29 games for Levante last season, translating to a goal every 1,616 minutes.
Three players are currently at the same value as they were when they left Madrid: Theo Hernandez (Real Sociedad, 15 million euros), Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro, 2 million euros) and James Rodriguez (Bayern Munich, 50 million euros). The latter’s value jumped to 80 million euros during his first season at the German champions. But during his second year the Colombian midfielder saw his value fall 30 million euros back to 50 million euros.
