Icardi: Wanda Nara meets with Juve sporting director in Ibiza

Wanda Nara, agent and wife of striker Mauro Icardi, has been in Ibiza to meet with Juventus sporting director, Fabio Paratici, according to reports in Italy.

The pair are believed to have met on the Spanish island to discuss the transfer of the Argentine striker, whose relationship with Inter soured last season as a result of tense contract negotiations in which Nara played a prominent role.

Inter’s fall-out with Icardi as a result of the contract dispute, which is yet to be resolved, led to the player being stripped of the team captaincy in March, with many clubs having kept an eye on how the situation would unfold, including Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Having recently named Maurizio Sarri as their new head coach, Juventus are currently undertaking a squad rebuild, and so far have added Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal), Adrien Rabiot (PSG), and Luca Pellegrini (Roma).

The Turin club has reportedly beaten PSG and Barcelona to secure the signing of Ajax's sought-after starlet, Matthijs de Ligt, while Manchester United’s Paul Pogba is also understood to favour a move to the Juventus stadium over Real Madrid. And if the reports in Italy are correct, Icardi could also be added to the squad of coach Sarri, for whom the Argentine centre forward is reportedly a top priority.

It’s not the first time this year Juve have been linked with the 26-year-old striker. Amid the tensions with Inter when he was stripped out the captaincy back in March, Nara admitted that the Serie A champions were pursuing him.

And with Inter looking to sign Manchester United number 9, Romelu Lukaku, a priority for new coach Antonio Conte, they would likely be open to releasing Icardi to their Serie A rivals, particularly after the fall-out over last season.
