The United States women's national team arrived back home in the States to celebrate with its fourth World Cup title with fans and attend the media.

Captains Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan spoke to ESPN, in which the Golden girl sent a message to President Donald Trump in response to his comment that they should win first the WWC to get an invitation to the White House. "I held up my end of the bargain," she said.

Rapinoe told Sports Illustrated, before the start of the 2019 France World Cup, that if the USA were to be crowned world champions, she wouldn't go to the White House visit. Trump replied with "you need to win first..."

During the interview, Morgan was also asked about the 'win before speaking' to which she replied: "I think we know who won that one".

Megan thinks the political backdrop during the World Cup carried a positive message, and although the atmosphere was tense, the team supported her when she needed it. "Honestly, I see it as a positive thing. I think when it was happening, we did keep a tight bubble, and the whole group was so supportive of me, it did feel like positive in a way."

She added that she feels proud of what it was achieved and the impact they had during the tournament, and for what's yet to come. "I think this team understands we do carry with us other people when we step out on the pitch. I feel like we do this for our group, for ourselves, for our team, for our staff, for our friends and family and everyone. We are lucky to wear the shirt and to represent America in a way that no team does I think we do an incredible job representing every American," Megan concluded.
