WBA 'fuming' about Barça move
Barcelona have fended off reported interest from other European heavyweights to sign England youth international Louie Barry, with the Ligue 1 champions rumoured to be eyeing the 16-year old, along with several Premier League clubs.
But it is Barça who have secured his signing and on Thursday made the announcement of the player who will now be part of the Juvenil A side having signed a three-year contract. Barry has spent 10 years at West Brom, and made his debut for the Championship club's Under-23 team last season.
Following the confirmation from the LaLiga champions, however, Rob Dorsett from Sky Sports News, tweeted that the English club were 'fuming' at what they saw as a premature announcement. Apparently the paperwork has not yet been completed, and that could hold any move up, with more compensation desired.
FC Barcelona have recently been making headlines for how they have dealt with the transfer of Antoine Griezmann from Atlético Madrid, with the capital club's president stating that 'there would be consequences'.
